Bitcoin Falling

As bitcoin fell below its 2017 highs, retail investors – arguably the most prone to speculative trading – asked Google whether this time around, in fact, bitcoin was well and truly dead. Currently, market sentiment is volatile, and with searches for "Bitcoin is dead" hitting all-time highs, investors are demonstrating a lack of confidence in the asset class's short- to medium-term prospects. The information site 99Bitcoins keeps track of the so-called "Bitcoin obituary", a rough estimate for "Bitcoin is dead". A bitcoin obituary is classified as such if "the content itself (not just the title) is clear about the fact that the bitcoin is or will be worthless ('probably' or 'not')".In addition, it also requires that "the content was produced by a notable person or person with a site with substantial traffic". For patient investors, with a longer-term horizon, "Bitcoin is dead" could be a signal to start entering the market. As the world's most famous investors have said time and again.
